Time is FLYING

I cannot believe that it is almost the end of July! HELLO - it shouldn't even be MAY yet. The years keep speeding up - so I thought I might do a quick Past Present & Future

10 years ago:
I had 3 children living at home and in school
I was working at a job that I loved with the greatest group of people - most of them my friends
We lived in Texas and could see our extended family 4 to 5 times a year
I was happy being married

Now
I have 3 children married and living in 3 different cities (2 different states) - 5 grandkids
I'm working a job that I'm less than thrilled with. The people are okay but none do I socialize with.
We live in Florida and only get to see our family 1 possibly 2 times a year
I'm even more happily married

10 years from now
I hope all 3 children and their familes will be living within a10 hour drive from us
I hope I've won the lottery and am not having to work :) or maybe running my own Wedding Planning company
Colorado comes to mind..... be close enough to extended family to see them 2 or 3 times a year
I'm beyond happily married and on to Marriage made in heaven

So how about some of you? What was life like 10 years ago vrs Now and where do you want to be in 10 years?

HEALTH QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!!... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!
Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.
And remember:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride"

Crazy & Lazy Days

Work has still been CRAZY but getting a little better every day - I no longer feel it is 100% hopeless just 50% or so. LOL

Here's how we spent part of our "Vacation" and Holiday Weekend over the 4th.

Randy & I drove to Cocco Beach to see his Great Niece and her family. We were hoping to see the Shuttle launch and we could see the Shuttle on the launch pad from our hotel window - would have been GREAT but it was postponed until the 4th (of course the day after we had to leave)......oh well. We had a great view from the hotel and a great visit with Jamie, Jared, Jace & Jadon.

We returned and went to the 4th of July Parade - Had a great time. Here's some of the pictures I took but for some reason Blogger won't let me load all the pictures - but it was GREAT! Then we went back to my house and actually got 5 of the 6 kids asleep at the sametime (Ethan layed down and rested but didn't ever go to sleep) All three husbands and Britt & I at one point Julie was the only one up in the whole house - NOW YOU KNOW WHAT KIND OF HOSTESS I AM! Then we went to watch the fireworks and I'll leave you with a picture Randy took of the fireworks. If I can figure out how to make the slideshow work I'll post all of the pictures.
