Wow - I am so lax at updating. I apologize for that!
Today is my honey's birthday.......I hope it is the best EVER! I always feel like his birthday is forgotten because 1 week before is our anniversary and then just 8 days later is a grandson's birthday. So if it falls mid week and we celebrate our anniversary late and Trace's birthday prior to his birthday Randy's is just gone. But this year we had a couple of different occasions to celebrate it.
This weekend our friend Carla (which we hadn't seen in 4 LONG years but lives within 20 minutes of our new home) and her daughter Sloane came over Friday night (THANK GOODNESS for Classmates.com - because email address and phones have changed in the last 4 years.) Her family has grown since I last saw her and I cannot WAIT to meet her 2.5 year old little girl - her pictures remind me of Sloane at that age....and I just cannot wait to spoil Jordan like I did Sloane. Saturday night Carla came back over, Nyki and her kids, Britt and her family and I Sang Happy Birthday to Randy - (ummm do you think it was wrong that he had to cook his on birthday supper?.....kind of feeling guilty there - okay I think I'm over it now!) Had Red Velvet cake with candles for him to blow out......but since he doesn't like cake I also got a Key Lime Pie for him and he was a happy camper!
Sunday he worked the nursery with me which always tickles me - it was the first time we worked the nursery at our new church and so first time he had been around the majority of the babies (Kailey being the exception) and like always ONE child clung to him....ALWAYS there is one that just seems to take to him and won't allow anyone else to take them from him. This time it was the only BOY in the bunch (the new preacher's son) and he didn't leave Randy's side except to go play with Ian (My friend Jen's son - 15 years old I think) and then he was back with Randy until mom came and got him - he didn't even go to his brothers or sisters when they came in for him. WE had new members class Sunday afternoon then Small Group Sunday night - where I got another Happy Birthday cake but no candles or song this time but it was a YUMMY cake!
This morning I told him Happy Birthday at ohhhhh 2 a.m. and then our lovely DIL texted him HB which made him smile. Then there was a knock on the door while he was in the shower and the grandkids patiently waited for him to get out dry off and get dressed then when he opened the door they Sang Happy Birthday to him. Now he gets to spend his birthday getting his car registered in Texas and getting a new drivers license.....fun fun!
Now for a week ago....our anniversary our 29th anniversary Wowzers! He is ready for saint hood having to put up with Phycho me for that long! He spent most of the week gone to a trade show in Dallas (just up the street but still not home at night in my bed......so he might as well have been in CHINA!) so Friday after work I went and joined him at this hotel, we ate supper with RC and one of their customers Tim from the company that RC and Randy used to work at. Then RC went home to his family and we went to the AfterShow Party it was here where we had a GREAT time! Then spent the night in the hotel and got up to swim in the outdoor pool and got dressed went shopping at Grapevine Mills and then to IKEA (man do I LOVE that place!) and the container store and out to eat to get home about 8 and we hybernated in our room watching TV. Was one of the best Anniversaries EVER (only topped by Hawaii for our 25th and that wasn't exactly on the 25th - in fact we weren't even in the same state for the actual 25th so we are back to the best Anniversary EVER!!!!) Nyki made us the coolest "slide show" for our anniversary. It was Great! I came home sick from work on the actual date (but we still went out that night to a Japanese Steak House - ohhhhhh I love goody goody sauce!) We were even acknowledge on a friends blog which I thought was very sweet! Thanks Jess at GIFTofGAB that was great!
