Weekend out shines WEEK!

After the week I had last week I was really looking forward to the weekend! Friday night was just Randy and I - not really doing anything special. We did have to go buy a new DVD player the one in the living room had started not reading certain disks and so........We bought one. Not really exciting huh.

Saturday morning we got up and went to the STATE FAIR!!!!! I love fair corndogs and I LOVE the Florida state fair. Britt, RC & the boys met us there. I've discovered that the fair is even cooler with little guys - speaking of boys I just found out that my eldest is expecting a boy (if you remember that is what my middle child is expecting also) So by July 4th I will have 4 Grandson's and 1 Granddaughter........LIFE IS GOOD!

With work being crazy - I won't be blogging until the weekend again. I'll be in Training - YUCK!

My Week isn't for the WEAK!

Monday started out this week like just about any Monday.

With rumors my boss was going to quit, and those that know me know I adore my boss - we have a very unique relationship if I don't quit at least twice a day so he can say "You can't quit your fired!" he is worried that something in terribly wrong. I asked about the rumor he denied it but only time will tell - I know he's not happy with the changes brought on by the purchase of our company. Also my work load was beyond what any two people could do much less just me!

With no electricity when we got home - people behind us had it but all 3 blocks in front of us and at least one to the west of us had NONE. Randy and I went out to eat - hoping it would be back on when we got home. But no luck - it was out for over 13 hours. Which meant no recording of the only funny/light shows we watch. Also meant that the coldest night in Tampa since we have lived here for 7 years we HAD NO HEAT! Luckily we are campers and we could grab our camp lights to see by and our sleeping bags to keep from freezing. We called it a night at 9:30 and climbed in bed to get warm. Our house was down to 52 degrees before the heat came on at 2:30 a.m.

Tuesday - Valentine's Day
Randy got me a gift card - YEAH, I got him an ID bracelet in Titanium (still have to get it engraved but wasn't sure if he wanted initials or what so.....) Went to work where I rearrainged and cleaned and prepared the office for a Vendor presentation on Wednesday. Worked on my work load and was at the office until after 7 p.m. - Randy and I did go out to eat (again) and he bought me the coolest flashing Heart pin. But by the time we got home we were both exhausted!

Wednesday
Was an extremely long and tiring day with the Vendor Show and the work load that seemed to develope a life of it's own and grew overnight. Again I worked late - not as late as the night before but I began to counquer the BEAST of the workload.

Thursday
Started the day off excited thinking it was FRIDAY - so enough said about my week!!!!!!!!!!!

missuzj (Sophie's mom) gave us a writing assignment wherein you have to take 2 times in your life and compare them by using the phrases "I used to" and "but now I".
Here's my homework:

I used to rock my dolls and wish I would grow up faster and move on to real babies
.....But now I rock my grandbabies and wish they wouldn't grow up so fast.

I used to watch Randy in 8th grade and wish he would notice me and know I was in LOVE!
....But now I watch Randy and know that ne notices me and that he's in LOVE.

I used to think if I could just make it through High School I could be my own boss
....But now I know that I haven't been my own boss since High School

I used to think my parents were stupid and trying to ruin my life
.....Now I think my parents are great and know they want only the best for me

Okay people I want to see your assignment!

Randy Talking Here

My love for Twila is unwavering and with Valentine’s coming up I thought I would share the following:

A Valentine’s Day Prayer
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” –

I CORINTHIANS 13:4-7 NIV

Lord,
Because love is patient…Help me to be slow to judge, but quick to listen. Hesitant to criticize, but eager to encourage, remembering your endless patience with me.

Because love is kind… Help my words to be gentle and my actions to be thoughtful. Remind me to smile and to say “Please” and “Thank You” because those little things still mean so much.

Because love does not envy or boast, and it is not proud… Help me have a heart that is humble and sees the good in others. May I celebrate and appreciate all that I have and all that I am, as well as doing the same for those around me.

Because love is not rude or self-seeking… Help me to speak words that are easy on the ear and on the heart. When I’m tempted to get wrapped up in my own little world, remind me there’s a great big world out there full of needs and hurts.

Because love is not easily angered and keeps no record of wrongs… Help me to forgive others as you have forgiven me. When I want to hold onto a grudge, gently help me release it so I can reach out with a hand of love instead.

Because love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth…Help me stand up for what is right and good. May I defend the defenseless, and help the helpless. Show me how I can make a difference.

Because love always protects and always trusts… Help me to be a refuge for those around me. When the world outside is harsh and cold, may my heart be a place of acceptance and warmth.

Finally, because love always perseveres… Help my heart continually beat with love for You and others. Thank you for this day when we celebrate love, and for showing us what that word really means. Amen.

ER; SPA, Concert; Nursery, Hockey & Love!

What do all of these have in common you ask? Well I’ll tell you (if I wasn’t going to I wouldn’t have typed them to begin with).

Last Wednesday night I spent about 6 hours at the emergency room with Brittney. She had a migraine that NOTHING was cutting. So after sitting in a very bright noisy room for hours we finally got in the back where they gave her a shot of Morphine. She is funny when she’s loopy! (If you want to know more see Britt’s blog link on the side) I have been assured since she was 29 weeks that the most it would do to the baby is make him sleepy.

Thursday was a LONG day at work, I was very very tired! So Randy and I went home and just vegged for the evening. Friday was a long day at work for other reasons……it has to get better or I’ll go nuts! Now hang on for my wonderful SATURDAY – we got up early did all our laundry and loaded his bike on the car to take it in for a check up – since he was sure he was being released from the doctors. Then we went to get my nails done for the CONCERT that night. I talked him into getting a pedicure with me, if you haven’t done this I recommend it! We sat side by side in a massage chairs while our feet soaked in a warm whirlpool spa, we had our calluses shaved our lower legs and feet massaged with lotion all the while we could just visit and relax. I had my toes done in a French manicure and then had my nails done with an American manicure and Randy wondered down the street to look in the bike shop. We got home changed our clothes and then went to meet the group at the church that were going to Gaither Homecoming that night. You have to know that Randy wasn’t thrilled to go but he did buy me the tickets for my birthday in October and he was looking forward to spending time with friends. There was a group of 15 of us that loaded up in the church’s 15 seat van and off we went. We ate supper at STOMPS – Randy and I weren’t over thrilled with the food but so enjoyed the fellowship. We also got to watch a carnival cruise ship take off that was parked close enough to the balcony where I went to talk to Tasha on the phone that I could have hit it with a rubber band! Then walked to the concert – oh how I enjoyed it…..I have a new favorite group – THE ISAACS. Bought the CD and have downloaded it to my ipod…..gotta say it’s awesome. It was a blast! Made new friends – spent time with some we have had for awhile but felt refreshed from the whole experience!

Sunday morning I had nursery; Randy had video so ……it was more work than worship so we were really glad we had gone the night before! Went to lunch with Britt, RC and the boys and Eric and Julie and the boys (still hoping I can’t type that after Julie has the baby – can’t believe they didn’t find out.) Didn’t really get to visit with them much I was beside the boys and Eric and I were kind of taking care of kids the whole time but that was okay to. To hear the best Dude story link on Julie’s link on the side of my blog – be prepared to laugh hard!

Monday night we had the boys – I could really get used to having little ones to kiss good night again. Anyway Grandpa was babysitting first thing Tuesday morning so mommy could have some 4 hour blood test done. Daddy was staying home and I had to beg him and make arrangements for another babysitter so he could come put the lettering on the van one of our tech’s drive- wouldn’t have had it in the office for over a month if it wasn’t Tuesday morning so.

Tuesday night Randy and I went for free to the Hockey game – very fun time! Only thing that would have made it better (well a couple of things) would have been if Lightening had won and/or if we’d had non-nose bleed seats! But the price was right!

Gotta say it has been a wonderful time with my Husband between his allowing me to talk him in to having a pedicure with me, and attending a concert he wasn’t thrilled about but knew when he bought the tickets that it would please me, to his picking me to be his friend he could invite to the Hockey game. I'm a LUCKY WOMEN TO HAVE HIM!
